Are the buses NJ transit or Academy or Coach? I take the 139 to/from NYC/Old Bridge, and aside from the nightmare traffic conditions on every leg of the trip (RT 9, GSP, Turnpike, Lincoln tunnel) I usually don't wait too long for a bus. I would think being closer to the Turnpike, albeit further south, would result in a little better commute.
I have a friend who lives in Dayton and has to drive to a nearby park & ride off the turnpike - she has 1 option - Coach and complains of the schedule all of the time. Also, the park & ride monthly parking fee is not cheap.

I grew up in Spotswood back in the 60's / 70's . I thought it was a great place to be a kid in . I have been back and I don't think much has really changed there . Small town that still feels safe . A good way to get a feel would be to go to a neighborhood meeting . Check it out and see what kind of vibe you get from the attendees . I am sure you'll walk away with a good idea how things run and who is involved . Good luck !

We're also looking in that area, and trying to figure out which is the better over all town to live in is getting tough. We're (we have a little 18 month old)looking at Manalapan, EB, Monroe, and now Spotswood...but since my husband works in NYC, the commute is a major factor for us. Which one of these towns have both trains and bus? Any more input on these towns? THANKS!
