Since Hamilton shares a fairly long border with Trenton most things in Hamilton are close to Trenton. The city and the township share some commonalities as far as urban environment around the border areas, but Veterans Park lies more to the southeast of Hamilton. I suggest you get more familiar with the area by driving around. The township is about 41 square miles and varies greatly from the Trenton border areas to the southern/eastern borders with Burlington and Monmouth Counties. However, if you're that afraid of Trenton start looking further south or east.

Default Yes, veterans park is safe

We lived right across the street from one of the side entrances in a condo community (near the hospital). Living there was great as we could walk to the park. Especially good on 4th of July when we could walk to the park and get a good spot to watch the fireworks without having to deal with the traffic afterward.

Trenton is probably 2 or 3 miles away as the crow flies, but the worst parts of Trenton are much further. We never heard of anyone having any problems with crime.
