Perhaps he thought that the OP was referring to Princeton, KY , or Princeton, AL , or the several other "Princetons" in the various states. However, I think it is fair to say that the default Princeton is the one located in NJ, where the world-class university is situated. Thus, the flippant comment about this being the NJ Forum is... curious... to say the least.

Sometimes you will see people posting queries about tourism in "Paris, France", even though the city of that name is essentially the default "Paris". If someone wants to know about tourist sites in Paris, TX, (assuming that such a thing exists...) then it would necessary to include the name of the state where it is located, but if only a city name such as "Princeton" or "Paris" is mentioned, I think it is fair to assume that the OP was inquiring about the default city/town of that name, rather than a backwater burg.
