Looking for a trendy, modern hair salon in Union or Essex counties. Someplace that specializes in "up to the minute" cuts, not "old fashioned doos". Any recommendations?
Wow. Your best bet is to go online, some places have websites available....there are way too many to list, especially in those areas because northern nj is overpopulated when it comes to anything. Off the top of my head.....salon mosaic, salon ilona, bangz, dieci, melandre, st. ives.
You may not believe me when I say this but I live in Toms River and I drive all the way up to Wayne to get my haircut. The place I go to is called "Plaza Salon and yes it is in the Willowbrook Mall. You can't just go there any ask for anyone though. "Rosemary" is who I use and I have been going to her for 7 years and she has been there over 20 yrs. They key thing about her is that she goes to hair shows 3-4x a year and remains in touch with new styles and has excellent skill in what she does. If you go see her say Brent from Toms River sent you and she will def. give you top notch service.
Came here 8 yrs ago and drove back to NY every month 1/2 for a haircut. Went to about 20 places and sometimes would get a decent haircut but wasnt consistant. Then I found Razberries on Fischer Blvd Toms River and used Kelly (the owner) and been going there 2 yrs now. Everyone I send is happy. New bigger shop with young and hip cutters. Customers young and old alike. If you go tell her Michele from the animal shelter sent you. If shes not available the woman who used to own it is just as good, I think her name is Debbie just ask girl at desk. Very up to date and has manicures, pedicures waxes etc... well you can go to Red Bank and my daughter Dana Gurrieri is in Jonathan The Salon at 93 Broad Street--tell her that her mom sent you! You won't be sorry.
Bangz or Parlor in Montclair. Bangz is huge with all services provided, a bit pricey, while Parlor is smaller and more reasonable. If you go to Bangz, ask for someone that's been there for a while; they have a bit of turnover being so large.
