Is River Road in Nutley safe? How about Nutley in general? Is this a good area if I want a quick commute into NYC?

Yes River Rd is safe and Nutley is a safe town overall. Just do a search on Nutley in this forum and you will find many posts on Nutley. They have buses that run along River Rd that take you into the Port Authority. Very easy commute to NYC.

It's also an easy train ride if your NYC target is closer to Penn Station -- the Delawanna station is blocks away just off River Rd in Clifton.

My husband and I lived in Nutley for years and we were in a Townhome on River Road. Nutley is a safe town and we really enjoyed our time there. There is only one thing, sometimes you will hear of some crime. Rt. 21 is the "Passaic to Newark" corridor and because of that we'd occassionally hear of someone that was being chased by the police and veered on to River Road to avoid them. But this was a rarity. Overall, it is a very nice town.

River Road is full of rich condos of yuppies working in Manhattan (easy commute). Years ago it was not so nice, but have no worries today.

Yeah, that is true of Cambridge Heights. Some of the older developments are not as yuppie like and you'll get a better deal - but they are not as nice.

This is a great area. If you are looking for a good NYC commute, this will work well for you. I would also consider Clifton and Bloomfield to give yourself more options. Good luck!

The management in Arbor Hills in Nutley, NJ SUCKS! Sharon Pedicini is the worst manager ever! 432 owners Inc aka Arbor Hills makes over 200k each month. Where is the money going?? It sure as hells is not going to help with the shareholders issues! All Sharon the manager does is ignore you. Arbor hills needs new management and a new board. One person on the board owns over 70 apartments in the complex and pulls a lot of stings. He likes a manager like Sharon so she can ignore situations like assisting shareholders with issues. Someone please help!!! Boot Sharon!!
