Hi All,

I'm going to be moving to the Weehawken area soon. I'll be working in Jersey City. Someone mentioned that the light rail is sketchy at night which surprised me. I'm curious as to what others think.

Thanks.

I have no first hand knowledge other than knowing that it operates in some sketchy areas, so it wouldn't be a stretch to say that the potential for problems is there

I have worked many overtime details assigned to light rail in Jersey City. Yes the southern end of the light rail in JC leaves much to be desired. Thugs jump on the trains after dark. Not all the time but many reports have been taken of people being robbed. Your ride which is northern downtown JC is safer as I assume you will be going no further south than Newport or Exchange Place.

Thanks guys. I've lived in big cities so public transportation and sketchy areas aren't new to me but I wanted to check.
