Hello,

Not from Bergen County but potentially looking to buy in Lyndhurst (because houses seem more affordable than Nutley and Rutherford, and I want to be only a couple of stops from Hoboken so I can take the path). Just read an article saying they are building a new junior-senior high school, fixing up the current train station by Court Ave., re-doing the firehouse, and making major infrastructure changes in the township. I've never owned a house nor am I aware of how town taxes work, but with all of this happening, does it seem odd that there will be a 2% municipality tax decrease for 2019, according to the mayor? And do you think Lyndhurst is a smart place to buy a home in terms of property values over time or is it one of those types of places that will devalue?

Appreciate the info as always.

Lyndhurst is a safe bet in my opinion as far as maintaining home value's as it is close to NYC, the train station i beleive is going to be built next to the NJ transit lot by shoprite and they are going to close the two existing train stations and the school is under construction.
