I agree. I guess Corzine is going to work his Goldman Sachs magic that he was supposed to use to fix the NJ budget. I also find it interesting that Corzine and Rendell have time to worry about raising money for this when both of their states are facing huge budget issues and their solution is to raise taxes and tolls. Maybe they should stay home and work on ways to cut unneccesary spending to fix the budget instead of always looking at raising taxes and tolls as a solution. Don't worry though I am sure both Corzine and Rendell will easily get reelected easily.

We, NJians, could use that money...why not raise some for us? I wonder if they will be holding a bake sale in order to raise the funds?

To be fair Corizine's proposed budget is lower than last year's.. an hones to goodness cut, something that doesn't happen very often where govt is concerned.

Fair or not, I think it's 1/2 million off a budget of 33 billion. Not even a spit in the bucket.

Well he raised it about 8 billion in 2 years thats the absolute least he could do. Maybe the 100 million he spent to campaign could be sent back for municipal aid. He is a joke, he is only worrying about his future not ours.

Half a billion you mean

Quote:
Corzine’s Proposed Budget Cuts If enacted as proposed, the overall state budget would shrink by $500 million to $33 billion, marking only the fifth time in the last 50 years that New Jersey would spend less money than it did the previous year. Assuming inflation this year at around 3 percent, as it has been since 2004, the cut would be equivalent to roughly $1.5 billion, or 4.4 percent of last year’s budget, in real terms.
