Metsfan 53 - can you give me feedback regarding Holmdel. Obviously, I'm all over the place. I'm also beginning to realize that no matter where we chose to go feedback will always be what it is....everyone has different wants, desires as far as towns, homes, schools, etc...are concerned which is why this decision is so hard.

np- we were same way when we were looking. We ultimately chose Monmouth County b/c we wanted a more laid back environment with a bit more space (being close to the beach didn't hurt either).

Holmdel is very suburban, has a lot of the usual shopping places in town or nearby, lots of places to each nearby, great parks, and EXCELLENT schools and is also part of Monmouth Regional HS system if your kid(s) want to specialize at that point (bio/tech/med etc) although Holmdel High is a top 25 or so school in NJ anyway. Homes are on nice big lots. For commute you could either do train from middletown/hazlet or what i did for a bit and take the bus to PA - pick up the bus at PNC arts center- plenty of parking (no permit waits). At the time your husband goes there should be no traffic.

Still close to the beach. Deninos is nearby in Matawan.

Visit each place, get a good feel for the area, vibe. Your husband should practice the commute too. We were set on moving up north then looked again down here and fell in love and could never look back.
