The deli owner faced a lot of backlash after he put up a sign celebrating "White History Month" and has apparently been forced out of business. The owner, Jimbo Boggess, has opened a GoFundMe page, hoping that people will give him money and help him dig out of the financial hole he is in. Whats wrong with celebrating white heritage month? Doesnt mean he was demeaning other ethnicities.
Different ethnicities have diff heritage months, and a lot of big corporations do a lot of marketing around that. That gets counted as best practice, but a deli owner does it..its bad?
p.s. before you think i am defending my color, i am not white, im asian indian

He can celebrate whatever he wants, even if he's celebrating something that he makes up all by himself. And consumers can react, speak out against his celebration, stop shopping in his store, and encourage others to stop shopping there as well.

The free market in action.
Ofcourse. Consumers have the right to stop shopping at whatever place they want for any reason.
I am just saying that there is nothing wrong with "white heritage month"
why is this a controversy? i remember reading about this in the newspaper and wondering why being proud of your heritage and skin color is so offensive...
there is black pride for blacks, brown pride/viva la raza (long live the race) for spanish people, why no white pride?
why is white pride racist?
i am white irish and italian descended but i am also a white american and very proud of that and i see no reason why that is an issue. i have 5 boys 4 of which are in Philadelphia public schools and i teach them to be proud of their skin color and heritage and have a sense of pride, especially when here in Philly schools they get bullied for their skin color. it should be applied equally if white pride is racist fine but then i don't want to pay school taxes that fund black and Spanish heritage month when my boys can't even celebrate their own heritage. the double standard is the only thing that is racist here.
