Do you get cell phone signal when using NJTransit train to go from Secaucus (Frank R Lautenberg) train station to New York Penn Station?

I am using BoostMobile service which does not get any signal. But I see other people using cell phones during the commute. Just curious as to which companies do provide service between these two stations.

Nope, I have Verizon and want to fling my phone out the window between these two destinations.

How can there be signal if there aren't any towers nearby that area. Telcos only place towers where there are people living, cell tower coverage is spotty in that area.

I get service with Verizon but it's spotty and only 3G for data, between Secaucus and the tunnel to NYC. Once you hit the tunnel it's lights out.

Some tunnels including the Holland or Lincoln now have a system of "leaky radiax cable" which leaks out enough signal to make cell phones work underground. You don't always need towers and antennas.

ATT and nope it's spotty or nothing. It's pretty horrible. I thought about this and I think that the cell phone companies do not put a cell phone tower in that area b/c there are no houses there and you can't even get there unless you are on the train. The investment for them to help out the people on the train probably isn't their priority but it's so frustrating!!

I get signal in the tunnel, even data, for Verizon. T-mobile is to laugh, no voice signal for a good distance from the tunnel (there is signal at Secaucus), and very poor data coverage everywhere.

Verizon charges an arm and a leg, but they get away with it because they really do have good coverage.

Of course I don't. We're under the river and then under some rock, I don't expect to get service, either.

I wish, but no.

No. The Lincoln Tunnel is a dead zone for me.
