Good day, I am looking for recommendations on deep clean or steam cleaning of carpets that services, Newton, NJ 07860? I tried looking online but unfortunately I didn’t see much in company reviews when I searched in Google. I would be doing 5 rooms altogether: Masters bedroom, 2 regular rooms, hallway, stairs, den and living room. Our carpet is not deeply stained or anything like that. But when we moved 2 years ago we never had it done. The former owners where two older people who had a dog. I just want to make sure that any dog hair, bugs, dirt, germs would be removed. My mom just recently contracted cellulitis and I want to make sure that everything is clean for her to ease her mind. I also have two young kids so I think the cleaning will also ease my mind. Thanks to any who answers!

We've used Stanley Steemer a few times. They're everywhere.

They're OK, some caveats:

When the fellows show up they will always try to upsell (just be firm & tell them that you only want what was arranged on the phone.)

You have to tell them to move furniture, or they will just clean around the furniture. They also can miss spots, so you have to watch while they're cleaning & point out if they miss anything.

They will move furniture if you ask. If you don't ask they will just clean around the furniture.

They will not move or touch anything electrical, i.e. computer or the table holding a computer.

The carpet does look a lot better when they're done.

Hi thanks for your response, the only response, LOL. I made an appointment with your recommendation and cross fingers I hope they do a really good job in cleaning. For 4 rooms: 1 masters bedroom, 2 regular rooms, living room, hallway and stairs they charged me about $256. This includes a 10% senior discount. Is this a good price?

In Dec. 2012 we paid $105. for the living room, but our living room is over the square footage that they count as one room, so they charge us for two rooms. They also did a very small hallway for no extra charge.

The one thing that I don't like about Stanley Steemer is the upselling. If I wanted more work done than I would have arranged it when I made the appt. But, I've always been pleased with how the carpet looks afterwards.

I've read a lot of carpet cleaning reviews on-line & Stanley Steemer seems to have the least bad reviews. If you've ever read the Sears carpet cleaning reviews you'll know what I mean !

OP,
Do yourself a favor and avoid a franchise operation for all the reasons noted above. Look in the free weekly paper/shopper for an independent with truck mounted equipment. These are local people who depend upon repeat and referral business for their livelihood.

I would have but unfortunately the "local" people took forever in calling me and I didn't see much reviews for them. Also time was of the essence because of my mom's situation. I'll see how Stanley steamers work out for me. I intend to have this service done in 6 months. If anyone has other good experiences with other companies if be willing to consider them for the next time
