I'm reading a lot of stories of business owners whining that they can't afford to to take on more loans to recover from the storm. The government is offering low interest loans, to allow businesses to get back on there feet after the storm, but they say they can't afford more loans, they want FREE money. Now why is the tax payers problem that you failed to properly insure your business? For a business you can get 50k flood insurance to cover the contents of your business for as low as $167 a year, and 500k building/500k contents for $2,623 a year. Anyone that lives or operates a business on the coast needs to have flood insurance, just because you never had a flood before is no excuse. It's like saying my house never burned down, why should I bother to have fire insurance?
