I am looking to purchase a multi-family house, but i am interested in knowing what areas are suitable for a young couple starting out. I am interested in an area where you can walk to restaurants and bars with a train station nearby.

I have been looking at the following areas: I would like to stay more Central NJ

Somerville, Westfield, Clark, Cranford, Metuchen, Woodbridge

I would like something to be no more than 300K.

How is Bound Brook or Manville?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cranford and Westfield are great towns, but not sure you are going to find something in that price range. Also not sure either town has much of a multifamily housing market, though I could be wrong.
