What would be the closest in demographics and home prices to south shore Nassau LI (ie. Bellmore, Seaford, Massapequa, Wantagh...etc) I'm an Italian looking for an easy transition to Jersey. Don't want to be living around doctor's and lawyers or in the slums. Middle class preferably.
Maybe you should look into areas like Totowa, parts of Clifton, Little Falls, West Paterson, North Arlington, Rutherford, Nutley, and Lyndhurst. Basically a lot of the older suburbs around Paterson & Newark are what you are looking for. These areas are still nice and Middle Class.
I dont' know though, I always had the impression that the suburbs on the South Shore were a little bit more upscale than the middle class suburbs in Jersey.
I am not sure I understand you question. You say you live on the So. Shore of LI. Does that mean you want to live at the Jersey Shore?
NJ is probably 50% transplanted NY Italian so you will fit in anyplace.
BTW Doctors and Lawyers are just about the only people who can afford to live in NJ
No, being close to the shore is not a concern of mine. One other thing I forgot to mention is that I need schools that compare to these long island areas I mentioned.
Fort Lee, the Ridgefields, Lodi, Maywood, Most of the southern Bergen. And it is close to NYC very close
Kearny, Secaucus, Bayonne
Or even the jersey shore. It is still mostly middle class. And there are lots of italians
oh yeh do not forget cliffside park, very italian
