Hello All,

Since I have moved into this house in Rockaway Township I have used Mitchell Supreme Oil. I have never done much research as to if they are the cheapest.
I just recently got filled up and paid $4.09 a gallon and was slapped with a $600 oil bill
What are my options and other suppliers that cover the Morris County- Rockaway area?

Thanks In Advance,
Matt

Before you decide to switch, do you have an oil tank policy giving some coverage for leaks? Switching oil supplier could void a policy.

If not... good luck in finding cheaper source.

nope I do not have a policy like that.
Do you not think there is a cheaper source?

I owned a house in that town years ago and there was a company offering cheaper oil as long as you left a check when they delivered. Worked out well.

Sorry, my 'good luck' wasn't meant to be sarcastic. Someone here might have a good alternative company. Otherwise ask some neighbors or just start calling around.

The only other thing to consider is if you have a service contract for your furnace through your oil dealer. Finding a dealer/servicer that you can depend on is important too. When your furnace braks down and it's 20 degrees outside, it might not be good to be the guy that keeps switching to chase the absolute lowest price.

The only switching I will will be doing is to natural gas. As soon as the weather breaks for good. All the oil companies are the same give or take a few pennies. It's the same racket no matter who you use.

Are there currently any incentives being offered to switch? I know there have been in the past.

My personal incentive is $600 to $700 oil bills for each fill-up. However, I will research the tax breaks as soon as I am ready to make the switch. I can't wait. I'd rather have a natural gas explosion and die in a fiery inferno than pay more oil bills.

Plus of course I've NEVER had a heating season where the damned oil burner did not go out on me at least once. The technology is obsolete and I want to be rid of it forever.
