Pre K in South Orange, Maplewood, Glen Ridge, Montclair (preschool, moving)

We are moving from CO to NJ in a few months, I have a 4 year old who misses the cut off to start Kindergarten next year so we will need to find her a preschool for one year and I'm just wondering about the program through NJ public schools. Does anyone know how to find out which schools provide Pre K, how hard is it to get in and the best place to find information about alternative programs? Any information is much appreciated.
