Grand on Park , East Orange NJ : HORRIBLE (Newark: apartment, lease)

DO NOT RENT THERE!
I rented a 2Br there in 2009-2010. The place is reasonably nice looking located in a terrible area.
The issue i had was receiving my security deposit. When i moved in the apt was dirty from recent construction and carpets had paint stains. It wasn't a real issue since i cleaned everything prior to moving my stuff in and had a carpet steamer. When i moved out at the end of my 12 month lease i left the apartment better than it was when i moved in, leaving it spotless.
I had the Super check the apartment and was told everything was great and was told by Denis that i would be receiving my security deposit in the mail with in 3 weeks. 3 weeks came i had not received it so i decided to call and was told it was just mailed out. A week later still not check so i decided to go there. Denis told me that their lawyer handled their finances and was mailing it but was on vacation. I went and called several dozen times and was told i would receive it, it was in the mail, or some other lame excuse.
After a month 1/2 of hearing and dealing with the lies form both Denis and Larry McNeil, i headed over the the tenancy dept in east orange municipal court. THere i was told that there was never a Certificate of Occupancy. No surprise. Having that information and no reason as to why i was not receiving my deposit (apt was vacated and left in perfect condition) Went to Newark tenancy court and filed to sue for my deposit. In court everything went in my favor and was given the judgment. I am yet to receive my deposit and am waiting.
