We are going to move Princeton from Zurich at the beginning of October with my husband. This will be our first time in USA, so I really need your help.
Could you please iform me about which cell-phone network should we use?
I believe that in NJ -- for national/domestic calling -- Verizon is the best.
I can't speak specifically to Princeton as I am from Northern NJ, but my experience around the state from talking to others is that Verizon offers the most extensive, highest quality, etc., coverage. Good luck.
i'm from Northeast PA, have family in central PA and Philly and Deleware, live in northern NJ, used to work in NYC, and now work in central jersey. i travel all over these states, and in my old job traveled frequently, and I never experience signal issues with Verizon Wireless. ATT is good, but has some areas that are just horrible. If princeton is one of those spots, you'd be in trouble. VZW is catching up in coolness of phones as well.
This being a populated state, most all of the cell phone networks have fairly good coverage. Some of them get tricky out in the boonies. You should be able to confirm on the carrier's websites using their coverage maps.
don't trust coverage maps too much. they often show coverage but depending on the phone you own, you may or may not get it there. but generally, NJ is pretty well covered. the issue becomes of you move around a lot (travel etc)
this really depends on where you're spending most of your time. my brother has verizon and has issues near his house, while those with att don't. and vice versa. can't speak to sprint or tmobile, i don't know anyone with those carriers.
You can go with either AT&T or Verizon. Both have excellent network in both NJ and allover USA. You can select either and try for a few days (especially inside your house as some people have issues inside houses). If you have dropped calls, etc you have 30 days trial period during which you can cancel your service and switch to another carrier.

i think most trial periods are 15 days now.
