I have a friend flying into Newark on Friday the 19th. She will be arriving around 5pm. I live in South Jersey (Cherry Hill area). I am trying to determine what the BEST way for her to get down to me. I could pick her up, have her take a train or bus to me, or take a train to a easier accesible location for me to pick her up.
And please whatever option you suggest please describe it as best you can. Saying "take Amtrak" really doesn't help much. Need to tell her how to get off plane to "whatever station" which train/bus, etc...
I was thinking if she took a train to Trenton or Princeton area would be the best option for me since that drive isn't that bad from me and wouldn't be a big deal for her I think to pop on a train.
The train stops right at Newark Airport- she just has to make sure she gets on a NE Corridor train, not a Corridor-Coast train. Once she's on, she can get off at whatever station works for you.

Just to clarify, I believe Bob is talking about NJ Transit, not Amtrak. Like he said, pick the closest NJT station to you.
You can always use Google maps and click 'public transit' to see what options it brings up; it will probably show the closest NJT station if you are uncertain about that.
Theres a Train every 20-30mins depending on the line. 2 lines service the airport , the North Jersey Coastal (NY Penn Station - Bay Head & Northeast Corridor (NY Penn Station - Trenton Transit Center ) & by 2013 30th Street in Philly. Amtrak does not stop at the station anymore , every since NJT took over its Clocker service back in 2004.
The easiest for both of you is NJ Transit to the Hamilton Station (1 station south of Princeton Jct). Hamilton Station is right off 295, no transfers for her and very easy access to the highway for you.
Just for your future use, I used the NJTransit web page and plugged in the date/time you provided to find the information you need - it took less than a minute... Here is the link to NJT's web page: New Jersey Transit - Home
For your friend to go from Newark to Trenton, if her flight arrives around 5:00 PM I figured by the time she deplanes and gets her luggage and gets over to the train station it would be 6:00 PM so I used that as a departing time. In the airport, all she has to do is follow signs to the (free) monorail and then take the monorail to get to the airport train station. She can buy a ticket at a ticket machine at the station or, if worse comes to worse, she can buy a ticket on the train but they charge an extra fee if someone chooses that. Here's the info:

There is an airport elevated train that runs automated and circles all the terminals and parking lots and takes you from the airport terminal over US 1&9 to the nearby train station where you pick up the NJ Transit train. Runs every few minutes.
She would take that to catch any train.
