I am moving from Brooklyn, NY to NJ to be closer to my job. The goal is to rent an apartment in one of the towns along the Northeast Corridor Line. The office is near Hamilton.

I want to rent a studio in the range of $1000-1200 a month. I am single and do not have pets or significant others.

I am looking for an apartment in a private house or complex that is bed bug free and conveniently located. The stores should be within walking distance or a short ride. I do not drive so I rely on Lyft. I am not concerned about local schools.

What is important is access to public transportation, conveniences within walking distance and a quiet, residential feeling to the town.

Can anyone please share experiences about apartment buildings they have visited? Or recommend a reliable real estate agent? I specifically am interested in Rahway and Linden.

Thank you.
