Hello,
I know variations of this question were already posted. But I would appreciate any feedback to help approximate for budgeting purposes. Our family of 4 are moving from the west coast to a 2400 sq/ft single family home in mount laurel. Any ideas what utility costs we can expect from gas, oil, electricity, water/sewage?

Thanks for any help.

Default An example...

Obviously it would depend on how the house is heated etc.

As an example for you, mine is a 2100 sq ft with gas heat, family of 3, and kept at moderate temps. Gas and electric (both are combined with PSE&G) is $300 per month. Water and sewer are also combined with Mt Laurel MUA and average around $60. PSE&G allows you to pay a set amount every month based on your average bill over the past year. Unless it's a brand new home, you'll probably be able to base an equal payment from the previous owner's past usage.

I moved here from the west coast too, and found the utilities to be a little lower here. Need a little more gas in the winter for the colder winters, but a lot less of the more expensive (electrical) AC during the much milder summers here.

Good luck with your move.

My costs are similar to others. 2 story, 2,200 sqft home, 5 people (wife and 2 of the kids are home all day) and our costs are generally...

$100-$225 per month for electric depending on AC usage.

$25-$250 per month for gas depending on heater usage.

So, we range from $125 - $350 per month depending on the season and average around $250 overall.

No, my electric is highest in the summer, but my gas bill is almost nothing. My electric bill drops to around $100 in the winter, but gas goes up to a high of around $250.

..................Jan...........Apr..........Jul.. .........Oct
Gas.............$250........$100.........$25...... ....$25

Electric........$100.........$100........$225..... ...$100

Total...........$350.........$200.........$250.... ....$125
