I commute from Derry to Northern Mass, and it takes me 20-25 minutes. Derry to Boston will likely be 60-90 minutes in rush hour, 45-60 minutes in non-rush hour times.

I commute using the Concord Trailways bus out of the Park & Ride at Exit 4 of I-93. I tried driving a vanpool truck for a few years and it was just exhausting. If you have to drive after you get to work have the company provide a car and leave it at work for your use. I would not recommend driving to Boston and back every day unless you really like heavy traffic and idiot drivers.
Can you tell me please how long this takes you every day?
Thanks

45 minuts to go into Boston leaving the P&R at 5:30 AM. About 1 hour if leaving later. Getting back requires about 1 hour if leaving on 3:15 or 1 hour + if leaving Boston Later. times may be much longer if weather or accidents choke the road.
Current cost is $65 for a 10 ride commuter ticket. Ticket office is open between 5 and 9 AM.
From N. Londonderry, Exit 5, it takes about 55 min. - 1 hour and 1 hour 20-2 hours during traffic to get to South Station, Boston - where you can get almost anywhere from.
Personally, if you like riding on buses and the T, then that way is probably the most stress free/convenient. I may add, if you are very patient and/or don't have any health issues.
Commuting to Cambridge or Lexington is quite doable via car especially if the companies you work at have free parking or paid parking. This way, you can work early, late, stop for a coffee, hit the gym directly before/after work, go to an appointment mid-day. It definitely depends on a person's level of interest and/or flexibility.
After having moved from MA, I wouldn't recommend moving this far north if you do plan on working in Boston area or even off of 128 unless you like wasting hours of time daily in traffic. It can increase your stress level, affect your health negatively, replace time you could use for exercising or being with family/S.O./friends, sleep, etc. Also, I understand you can listen to audiobooks, etc., etc.
I agree each individual is unique & each situation is different. Just providing my insight here. Public transportation isn't for me at this time, however, I've used it many times and know the benefits.
Living in Londonderry is great esp. If you work from home.
