there are always minimum wage jobs available at the multi hotel complexes in the No. Conway area. So if you want to be a dishwasher, there is a good chance you may find a job.
Concord is home to NH politics. There are lots of state jobs, federal jobs, court jobs, lawyers, doctors, etc., in addition to being a thriving small city with a lot of retail locations, and multiple hospitals.
Buck's right - Conway has low-paying jobs in the service industry, but not too much else. There is a hospital and some doctors' offices, and a few tech jobs, but pickings are slim. A lot of people cobble together multiple jobs and scrape by. A lot of the professionals who live there could make more elsewhere, but make the financial sacrifice because they just want to be there.
Positiveone, Did you say what line of work you are in? If so, I apologize for not remembering, but if you are willing to describe what kind of work you'd be looking for, it would help us to be able to give you more specific info about that particular market. (Yes, I realize you said 'overall job market')
IT job market is better in Manchester and points south and east of there. Healthcare jobs are located in Hooksett. Overall, the job market is not good in Merrimack County. Many people are self-employed in that area or are working multiple jobs to make ends meet. I left due to the job market... The area is not bad for retired people- particularly the Lakes Region.
I'm in Las Vegas. As expected I work in the Casino world! lol. Actually work more on the Hotel side of things. Which city has more Hotels anyway? Manchester, Concord, Conway, others?
Or should i ask, overall what NH city is holding up the best job wise in this crappy economy?
Thanks!

At a huge guess, I'd say maybe Manchester or Nashua since they are the largest 2 cities. But then.. there's also ski country.... but it would be very seasonal.
