Hello again! I'm hearing about a storm 7/28/09 that knocked down trees in Manchester.

How bad/widespread was it? Is this usual for the area?

I hope everyone's ok!

Yeah it got kind of windy here on Canal street, a chair from the sun deck landed under the overpass, and one of our adopted trees was mortally wounded. No we do not usually see that kind of storm.

Wow. It's a wonder you found your chair. I'm sorry about your tree; I love trees.
But I'm glad you weren't hurt or had any more damage.

Thanks for posting.

I assume it was wind damage that impacted Manchester?

I was between appointments coming north on 93 into Manchester at around 7:30 last night. The sky was incredibly beautiful and eerie! Bright red/orange near the horizon, with dark dark low hanging clouds above. I was on the phone with someone (you know who you are!) and was quite distracted with it... lots of cloud-to-cloud & cloud-to-ground lightning bolts. Haven't seen a sky like that since leaving Missouri back in 2001, except the sky was yellow/green there instead of that crazy red/orange of last night. WISH I had a camera for sure!! Crazy Dave, did you happen to shoot any pictures? Anyone??

We were sitting on our front step watching until before the downpour. Great show. I am glad my friend was not flying in that thing.

Tornado? Hmmm. I guess it's the proximity to the ocean and airstreams from the north and south?
