Is there a lot of "big city" crime in Manchester? Things like prostitution, gangs, etc.

I moved here from the Chicago area. My daughter lives in Chicago so I spent lots of time in the city. We now are renting a home in Manchester. Comparing the two places, Manchester has some crime, but it is more of a large town crime than big city crime. I haven't felt unsafe here yet. Just take normal precautions.

Not like Baltimore! I was at my gym on Friday, and one of my workout ladies came in.. very subdued.. one of her nephews was shot a couple days before! Apparently he was just sitting on his front steps when someone went running past, and then someone came running after them waving a gun. The nephew decided that outside was not a good place to be so he got up to go inside... and that's when he got shot. Geez. got the impression it was fatal (didn't want to pry more by asking). I don't think I've heard much like that in Manchester.
