Do you have a regular favorite breakfast & lunch diner in New Hampshire, where you know the owner and help on a first name basis? The menu is nothing fancy but the food is great, your regular coffee, hot breakfast and sandwich & burger? Where you just like to go to unwind and enjoy the company of good friends that show up on a regular basis? Where you sit at the counter with the local sheriff and friends and just relax and talk about the day?

My parents often eat at Hollis's Country Cupboard - I think that is the current name (it's been many variations on Corner/Country.. since the 60s). It's just a small little town restaurant, but the food was really good, and the staff was great when we went there.

Hubby and I also stopped .. in Plymouth (we were driving back south from Waterville Valley)? one time, at a place called Village Pizza? We had planned to have the pizza for lunch but a look at the amazing menu and we chose other entrees instead. I have to say the calzone I had was the biggest thing I've ever seen, and stuffed FULL! and tasty.

I second that!! great little teeny Red Arrow in Manch-Vegas... Can't get a seat. tight fit thru the doors. Never closes. Good food..I still have the his & her (Dinah!) Red Arrow mugs in my cabinet...

On Manch-Vegas/Londonderry line there is a small restauraunt near rt 128 and rt 28 - good b-fast joint (name escapes me).

There was another diner I stopped at on my motorcycle in Franklin north of Boscawen on old Rt 3. Can't remember the name but it was good.

I'll 3rd that for the Red Arrow IF I'm in Manchester. If I'm in Londonderry, there are 2 places I like: 28 Roadhouse (the same one Paradiddle mentioned) and Poor Boys Diner on 28, right near Exit 5/93. Can't go wrong either way!

Timoleons in Keene. LOVE that place... All the locals eat there, I can get an entire breakfast of 3 eggs, bacon, 2 pancakes, and homefries for $3.50. And its all fresh and "homecooked" if you will. you can't beat that... same staff everytime you go in, very simple place but wonderful.

The RoadHouse in Londonderry - yeah....

I never did Poor Boys as I would end up stopping at the Roadhouse first. I did hear it was good.

Merrimac Restaraunt in Downtown Manch-Vegas ain't bad. I heard that it got sold? Is it better or worse now?
