We are moving to Bedford in December and will be staying in one of the Apartment complexes to begin with which can be for a year.
I have been looking at the reviews and map etc . And considering heritage on the Merrimack, Hampshire green and Kensington apartments. The later two seem to be really close to the airport. I haven't visited any of them but I seem to like hampshire green apartments from the reviews and their amenities but really concerned about noise. My husband and me both are noise sensitive and have problem sleeping if there is any sort of noise. I understand it is going to be difficult in apartment.
I would like to know if any of these apartments can have real issues because of the noise from the airplanes? Should we avoid any of them?
I lived at Heritage on the Merrimack. You will not routinely get noise from the airport. The runways/flight paths do not go over that development. Once in a while you would hear a stray small aircraft. But no jets taking off or landing. You can sometimes, especially in the winter when the leaves are off the trees, hear planes taxi-ing in the early morning (6:00 or so).
I didn't notice much airport noise when I lived at Hampshire Green -- lived there for about 9 months, when I first moved up here. Of course, I moved from NYC, so anything was going to be super quiet in comparison. I do remember a train though. It was fairly infrequent, just a freight line, but I did hear it occasionally. Oh and the frogs in the pond. You could hear them, but I loved that, it was charming.
