So, I go shopping in Salem every week - mostly Market Basket and BJ. And every.single.week I see people from MA leaving shopping carts ALL OVER parking lots. Not only that - they leave them literally right where they last stood.

Today, I was in Target and the woman got in her car and her shopping cart was actually touching the car parked in the next spot. I tapped on her window and asked her if it was hers and her response? "oh, yeah, you can take it" Are you kidding me? You are not even embarrassed about being such a lazy you-know-what???

So, all of you people from MA who come to shop in NH - can you please stop being so lazy and inconsiderate and put shopping carts where they belong? It's bad enough you haven't discovered the turn signals on your cars - so you just stop in the middle of the streets and parking lots without any kind of warning - but do you really have to be so rude with shopping carts too?

I know: we see it all the time in the lots, but don't know who's at fault. people leave carts in the parking spot, making it difficult for the next person (I'm always having to get out and remove the cart so DH can pull in!). even when a cart corral is right next to the cart!!

It happens everywhere - not just Mass people. Drives me nuts too. Speaks to the sad, lazy state of affairs some people are in.

Totally. I see people leaving carts in parking spots in Manchester, Concord, and other area north enough that it is unlikely the offenders are from MA.

I am not saying that everyone in NH is perfect, but when I go to my local Shaws, there is NEVER any carts around the parking lot. And I know I might reveal myself as "slightly" crazy - but I've actually started to observe people who are doing it - and so far - they seem to be going to MA cars.

Also, as I mentioned in another thread, I lived in MD for ~20 yrs and in MA for 3 yrs and I thought that was just the norm - people being lazy you-know-what. Until I moved to NH - you guys have no idea what a difference it is to be driving and have people actually signaling before getting into your lane or waving you in, etc. Except for my neighbors, people here are just so nice and courteous - just makes my heart happy to be living here.

I worked at a grocery store in northern NH and the local people were frequently to fat to even walk to steps to put grocery carts away. They would park in the fire lane and send there six year olds in for controlled medication.

This isn't new. When I was young I was the designated "hey, jump out of the car and move that cart so I can pull in" kid.

Oh I understand! I just moved back after 30 years in MD, myself! people and 'traffic' here are worlds different! I found it amusing that DH was starting to get cranky about some of the local drivers here - then he had to return to MD for a week! he changed his tune about whether locals here are truly that bad. I'll put up with having to still get out and move the carts considering how much better in general everything else is.
