More like Bud light and Football. Small towns can be amazing. I love a good small town. I live in North Platte and the more I live here the more I dislike it. Stupid government, people who can't imagine fun without alcohol. And the people who take pride in their appearance and try to make something of themselves scorn everyone else. Sucks. Nevertheless, there are some amazing people here, and I think that if there were a leader people would be very willing to change.

Most of the small towns in Nebraska have truck stops, so I can see why you think that.

If you consider Mountain Dew, SlimJims, and a Little Debbie snack cake as a meal well, your eating good.

You are thinking of a convenience store, truck stops have full meals, and usually a buffet. They feed the truckers well!

There's something strange about northeast Nebraska. South Sioux is cool, so is Dakota City, and then the 'coolness' factor seems to wear off around Ponca. I lived for almost a year in a small town on the Cedar-Dixon County line and it was honestly pure hell. At first everyone was really nice, warm, and welcoming, and then they found out my ex wife and kids were Jewish, and the things that happened to us were so beyond ridiculous that I even had a hard time convincing my own family these things were happening.

AND LEBANON MOM I LOVE truck stop food! LOL

North Platte is the worst town in Nebraska. Hands down. I was born in Scottsbluff, lived in McCook for almost 3 years, then graduated from high school in North Platte. McCook is nice because it is small and quiet, I favor Scottsbluff though because thats where I fell like I belonged the best. Luckily, I got the heck out before it was too late and I have zero intentions of going back to North Platte any time soon. In fact I don't think I even want to go back to Lincoln County. I'll go to my family's home in McCook or in Scottsbluff, and even meet my friends and other family in Ogalalla or Gothenburg, but I'm staying far away from North Platte.

The worst part about North Platte is the people for sure, about 98% homophobic warm beer drinking big truck driving railroaders and their baby's momma's. They should just build a wall around North Platte and not let anyone in or out.

Can't argue with that! I stopped to get gas in North Platte and that was plenty of it for me! Now I usually stop in Ogalala! Scottsbluff is a nice town. I use to go grocery shopping there when I lived in Wyoming, just over the border.

It is amazing to me how someone can say an entire town or even a state is ALL bad. Come on, the law of averages says you had to have one or two positive experiences. I have said it before and will say it again, you get as good as you give. If you act all high and mighty, they are going to be offended and treat you the way you treated them. I am not saying I haven't had some bad experiences, but all in all, the good outweigh the bad. It's too bad you are judging a whole city or state on some bad experiences, without giving them a chance. Sounds like you might be a little closed minded to begin with.

I am no expert on the bible by any means, but isn't there something in it about "judge not, lest you be judged"? It helps if you try to make the best of things, and have an open mind. Otherwise, people pick up on your attitude about them.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays, what ever works in your particular season of happiness! And may you spread that joy to everyone !

There are no towns that are all good, and none that are all bad. Also, there is no best and worst town in Nebraska.

It has an awful lot to do with what we're looking for.
