Is the Halsey Frontier Inn still open? Double T Restaurant still open? I believe they both had websites as of about a year ago and it looked like really good food (full array of steaks, fish, chicken, lunch, and breakfast items). Planning on taking some weekend trips now that we are getting into our Nebraska warm season!

I would and will when it comes time to setting plans for the trip I just don't want it to be an awkward phone conversation if they are closed. Has anyone on this forum been to the Nebraska National Forest at Halsey and is it a really neat place? It looks like it is!

Yeah, the forest at Halsey is well worth a visit. Particularly if you're a rough-it type of camper. It's quiet, secluded and feels like you're in the Black Hills...In the middle of Nebraska.

Thanks itsMeFred, my fiancee really likes the Sandhills although she's never been to Halsey. Will post some photos after we go!
