Can anyone provide me with names of decent and reputable insurance agents in Murfreesboro are that are able to write flood policies. Yes, you can get a flood insurance policy in Murfreesboro even if you aren't built on a designated flood plain. Thanks!

Steve, All flood insurance policies are written by the Govt, so any agent like State Farm, etc can write it. Years ago you could get it on a Homeowners policy but the claims were killing the insurance companies, so the goverment established a fund for this. My husband works for a broker that insures Major companies so we have discussed this.
Make sure if you do this the policy also insures contents. Alot of the flood victims only had flood insurance insuring structure.
Here is a link about the program----http://www.fema.gov/business/nfip/

Thanks Diane! I found this out after doing some research. I am going to contact my own agent and see if he will write it. What is good is that you don't have to shop around since all prices will be the same.
