I'm new to this forum, as I will be relocating to Nashville sometime during the end of August. My boyfriend and I currently live in the DC area. I have never lived in Nashville before, but he has. In Brentwood, specifically. We took a few days in February to go for a visit so that he could give me a basic tour of all the surrounding towns and I could get a feel for what to expect. I loved it, (even though it was darn cold and nothing is in bloom).
We both work in aviation and will be commuting to NYC for our jobs on a regular basis. We have not yet decided which neck of the woods we will move to but we are narrowing it down as time passes and we research rentals a bit on Craigslist. We plan to rent for the first year and during that time we plan to look around to either build or buy once we choose our favorite area to reside in. I plan to go part time at some point and start my own business in candles. We make fine, hand-poured SOY candles. I am wondering if there is any networking for chandlers in the Nashville area(?) I network with a lot of people online that are also involved in making candles and would enjoy networking and establishing acquaintances once we move. I also plan to make soaps in the future but for now my main focus is the SOY candles. I look forward to the Farmers Market(s) in the area and plan to get involved with selling my products at them. I'm excited to make new friends in Nashville, as I have noticed just how friendly and welcoming people are. We do not get the warm fuzzies-if you will, from people where we live now.
Thank you for any suggestions or interest in getting involved in discussion. I look forward to becoming a resident of TN and i'm excitedly counting down the days until we move there.

Tough crowd?
Just kidding! Crafters in general are also welcome to join in discussion.
Thank you!
