Have read in other posts that it would be wise to avoid the Antioch area in terms of security but the majority of affordable apartments for rent are located there (at least according to newspaper and rental websites). And they LOOK quite lovely from the pics... Could somebody talk about the pros and cons of renting in Antioch? I hope to be working in Williamson county just don't think I'll be able to afford that.
Also, is it best to work with a real estate agent on this?
Thanks

There are a lot of apartments along Bell Road. If I were you, I'd drive by and look at the various places. I'd also make a point of looking at the cars at the apartment locations. Are they mostly clean, lately model cars, or they beat up old junkers?

You don't need a real estate agent to look for an apartment.

Whatever you do, DON'T rent an apartment in Antioch, no matter how nice it looks on the outside (some of them are deceptively attractive).

Yes, they're cheap, but so are housing projects. The area is completely infested with crime, drugs, gangs, and illegals. Like taking a stroll around the block at sunset? Wear a bulletproof vest and hope they don't aim for your head.

I can give you the names of several apartment complexes that are affordable, convenient to Williamson County, and NOT located in a crime-infested stinkhole like Antioch. I'm not a realtor or property manager or anything like that so my information is completely objective and unbiased. PM me if you need help.

Yes please don't rent in Antioch. My fiance moved to Nashville about 5 years ago and she was robbed at gun point in her first apartment (her 2nd night in Nashville!) in Antioch while taking out the trash! Lucky for her she wasn't hurt and they let her out of her lease. It was one of those big complexes on Bell Rd.

Plus, antioch is a long commute in the morning to work in Franklin. Spend the extra money and rent a place either in Franklin or Brentwood/South Nashville that is close to Brentwood.
