Can any of the current Hendersonville residents give me and idea of the current condition of Old Hickory Lake? I googled and found this article that was quite disturbing from 1991. Hopefully this is no longer an issue...

OLD HICKORY LAKE IS A SEPTIC TANK AND IT NEEDS PUMPING

Any help/comments would be appreciated as we are looking at a home on the lake.

Thanks

Well, I live in Mt Juliet, on the other side of the lake; but I'll help you out anyway!

This link should "clear up" ...haha...any of your concerns:

Water Quality

I live in MJ and I know that the water is fine for swimming and fishing-it doesn't even have that "stinky lake scum" you get some places.

We live right on the lake on the Davidson County side and spend a lot of time on (and in) the lake. There was a lawsuit recently settled regarding water quality, back from 20+ years ago, but it doesn't seem to be any worse than Center Hill or Percy Priest -- both other lakes I've spent time on/in, as well.
