In the latest Harris poll, which comes out annually, people were asked which cities and states they would like to move to.

Tennessee came in ninth, and Nashville came in 12th.

I'd say that's a pretty remarkable and strong "showing".

And, unlike most polls which use weird formulas or where different factors are ranked, this is one of the more straightforward surveys -- "Where do you want to live?" Granted, you still deal with people's perceptions (which are often completely inaccurate), but at least it's not total "new math".

I say, congratulations Nashville and Tennessee for being in people's minds and being perceived in a positive light. I count myself among those who would love to move to Nashville.

Great to hear! I like the really vague formula's that some magazines use like the amount of fast food restaurants in the area to gauge the "happiness" of the city. I think one graded Nashville near the bottom mostly on this criterea. While a big advocate of walkable neighborhoods and local food some of these polls seem to have no merit and are anti-southern...

Yes, like Travel and Leisure also came out with their results of "America's Favorite City" today and the whole thing is a joke.
Nashville is at least included in the poll, as always. But...the results are comical.
