i.e. A place where I would have to use a car very minimally? I currently live in Pittsburgh use my car less than once a week -- usually just to get to the grocery store.

The rental prices in East Nashville are very appealing to me but I am a little concerned about how spread out everything is. Is the "Five Points" area conceivably walkable?

Thanks, folks!

THe 5 points area is most definitely walkable to restaurants, coffee shops, small grocery, bars, banks, gyms etc... THere is a Kroeger that I estimate is about 6-7 blocks from the five points area that is most definitely bikable. In addition, along Woodland there are bus stops so for getting around town, there is fairly good access to public transportation. For a comprehensive listing of East Nashville Businesses have a look at eastnashville.org.

I live 5 blocks south of 5 Points in Edgefield and 5 Points is an easy walk. I also Walk to Aldi and Regions Bank and Kroger as well...it's not that far. I use my car daily to get to work...and I also like to take advantage of other parts of the city...but there is more than enough food, drink and supplies in this neighborhood to keep you from driving for those items.

Extremely walkable. Eastwood Neighbors is pretty walkable as well. It's the area who's borders are Porter Road, Eastland Ave, Douglas Rd, and Gallatin Road.

I agree, Five Points is definitely walkable & when you want to leave the East Side take a taxi or the bus.
