Can anyone recommend a campground/RV park south of Nashville? I've been looking on Internet but haven't found a lot of information. Recommendations are always the best way to find parks. I will probably spend the winter there. So it must be a year round place.

I'm not a camper, but I seem to recall a place near Opryland called Music Valley Campgrounds which isn't too far from south Nashville.

We just stayed in Poole Knobs. It was wooded. No swimming, but lots of fishing. We mainly used it as a place to stay while we checked out the area. Not alot to do there if you don't have a boat. It suited our needs, though.

How far south of Nashville? My inlaws used to camp at a place called Tennessee Hills. It is off I-24 between Murfreesboro and Manchester.

Thank you all for the replies. I'm looking for a campground 20-50 south of Nashville. So, TN Hills or Poole Knobs may be what I'm looking for. I'm checking them out on Internet now.

There's the I-24 Campground, about 20 miles south of Nashville. Extremely convenient to the interstate, and stores, but still gives you a little camping feel. My parents always stayed there when they would visit us. There's a pool, playground, picnic areas, restrooms, etc. Nice place.
