I am hoping to move right downtown nashville...can anyone give me a price of their apartment or anyone they know who lives right downtown? Or...I don't think I would mind living right outside of the downtown area, do you know of any nice apartments with a relatively easy commute?

I can't give you a good estimate of rent downtown. The addition of condos and apartments downtown is a relatively new thing for Nashville. Most of the newer ones they've built are expensive.

I would check around the Midtown (Vanderbilt) area. It would still be an easy commute and you would find a wider range of prices.

They've also put some new apartments around 8th Avenue and the Germantown area. Personally, I'm still a little leary of that area; but you couldn't beat the commute.

I'm not sure what's available in the way of apartments on the other side of town. Maybe someone else will post will information about Edgefield or East Nashville.

For information on East Nashville (Edgefield is on neighborhood in EN), call
Karen Hoff's office at 1-866-306-3345.

East Nashville is very close to downtown. You could bicycle to work if you wanted. There is a lot of different types of homes to rent. There are some new condos going in on Woodland Street.

The closer you are to downtown, the higher the rents. The Vandy area can be pricey --- $1000+ for a 2 bdrm. Condos near or in downtown are ranging from $240,000 to over $400,000. East Nashville might have more affordable rents. Look for an area that has had a steady influx of renovators.
