Hi,

I'm looking to move from Austin to Nashville. I will be working for Dell by the airport. I am looking for more of the hippy part of town (I'm 27/m) and I hear the hillsboro / west end area is probably the closest to what I'm use to in Austin. Austin is very laid back and that's what I like. Also, I am single, so what part is the best for a single guy to meet single girls?

Any suggestions on some good areas?

Great that you're moving here. I have a number of friends in Austin, and it seems like such a great place. Of course, it is in the country of Texas, so congratulations on your move abroad I think with them both being music towns, that you'll find it an easy transition.

As for the part of town you'll want to live, of course, price range is a determining factor, but generally anything in West Nashville or East Nashville puts you close to the pulse. So in West Nashville there are the areas known as Hillsboro Village, West End, Belmont, and 12 South. Or if you're looking in East Nashville, you'll probably want to look at options close to 5 points. From what you told us thus far, this is about as specific as I can get, but it should get you started.

Dickerson Road is and has been for many years a good, safe place for hippies. That is where I recommend that all my hippie friends do their home shopping.

Sylvan Park, West End, Hillsboro Village, Belmont, and 12South are all good choices. East Nashville is a good choice as well as it's rapidly improving but still quite affordable.

Dickerson road's a great place if you want to rent ... by the hour.
