I have been offered a good 3 to 6 month contract job, located at a company near the Nashville International Airport. But I live at least 60 miles east--far too distant to commute daily, especially as I find the two lane interstate very dangerous with all the big rigs cutting in and out. I will work M - Th in Nashville and plan to drive back to our home in Putnam County for a long weekend.
The hotels around the airport run around $120 per day (including taxes), which is too expensive. But the other hotels and apartments in the area seem to have horrible on line reviews, with complaints of roachs and bedbugs. I wonder if it is true about the bedbugs?

Can anyone recommend a good lower priced hotel within a reasonable commute distance of the Nashville airport? Thanks to all who take their time to answer.

I like the Maryland Farms area in Brentwood. 20 minutes to the airport. Safe area with many restaurants and a couple of grocery stores. There are some long term stay places. Maybe they would cut you a deal? Mainstay Suites runs under $100 a night. Or you could maybe find an Airbnb owner who would be willing to work out a lower rate for the repeat business.

There are also quite a few hotels in Franklin at Exit 65 (Route 96) that are cheap, near Williamson Medical Center. Baymont is running $60 a night in early January. But it would be more like 30 minutes depending on the time of day and road construction. I am less familiar with the East side of town but maybe someone else will chime in.

I would find a place in Donelson or Hermitage. Very close to the airport so you won't spend too much time in traffice. Mount Juliet would be a good location as well.

Maryland Farms is further away than 20 minutes. Much further.

Thanks for those suggestions. I hope a few more folks familiar with the area can post their thoughts, especially if they know from experience.

I would say Donelson/Hermitage/Mt Juliet as well.

Apple maps has Brentwood to BNA at 20 minutes. Maryland Farms might add 3 or 4 minutes. Hardly “much” further???

I'd add 10 minutes from there to downtown depending on the time of day. Work on I-440 has begun with mostly sound wall & expanded ramp work so far. I have seen more roadblocks in the morning on I-440 from 40 to West End & Hillsboro. Construction on the median begins in Feb with 1-2 lanes closed depending on time of day or nite.

for the OP maybe you can find a short stay or furnished apartment with a 3-6 month plan to fit your work?

Many apartments will do short term rentals with more upfront deposit and a higher monthly rent. Check those routes.

Have you ever done the commute personally7?

It is a much longer drive than 20 minutes.
