Last fall, many local news outlets mentioned the possibility of Tanger Outlets opening up a location somewhere in the Nashville area. It has been a while since anything has been said about it, but it would be nice to have an outlet mall that has mostly everything you can get at Opry Mills (minus the traffic and overcrowding), while containing more than what is currently present at the Premium Outlets in Lebanon.

When do you think they will announce the location of the outlet mall and where do you think it should be?

Maybe west of Bellevue. Every other direction of town is pretty well covered for retail options and it has a lot of thru traffic in and out of Nashville.

I was wondering why there has been no update as well. They mentioned the most likely locations would be Murfreesboro or Franklin areas. I 840 and 24 would be the best location.

Maybe this isn't the time to do another outlet mall. The one in Lebanon is OK for prices but has a limited selection. Too many store types are missing. The "food court" is a joke better go somewhere else for lunch.

It was much nicer back in the 90s, but they never expanded it like other locations. It is missing the high end stores and athletic apparel. The Tanger Premium outlets would fill a major void.If done correctly, with different stores than what are here now, it could be a major success, as there are no other Premium Outletsearch between Nashville and Atlanta.

Maybe the area where Ikea is going to be built.

(As long as the new shopping area doesn't end up like Hickory Hollow did)

It seems really odd to me that they are considering building an outlet mall at a time that brick and mortar retail is in a free fall nationally thanks to online retail.

Outlet malls are still pretty viable and follow that open air concept. Tanger is one of the best at doing outlets. Trust me, you want one, and itll do well in Nashville if put in the right spot.

I don't want it to go to Franklin or Murfreesboro. Those places already have everything...
