Hubby and I are considering places to retire in 2-4 years and Tennessee has been listed as a good place to retire. We currently live in a small town 25 miles from our capital city of Hartford Conn. and are looking for a similar small, quiet town in the Nashville suburbs not too far from hospitals and shopping. Willing to drive 1/2 hour for amenities. Don't need nightlife or hustle and bustle. Looking to spend $250,000 on a house or condo. Any suggestions?

Portland...close to Nashville and Bowling Green, but very affordable.
