This valentines day we don't have a sitter for our son (he's one and a half) so I thought it was worth asking, for those of you with kids, if you've celebrated a valentines day with your kids, what did you do or where did you go (food or activities)? Thanks!

When ours were that age, we put them to bed early and celebrated at home.

I would probably not celebrate it until the weekend before or after and choose a lunch date at a nice but kid friendly restaurant and (if the rain holds off) go to a park or head to the main library downtown for the puppet shows if there's rain. I wouldn't venture out on Valentine's Night with a child: it'll be crazy busy and you might get thrown some shade by less understanding patrons.

Baby was put to bed and we had a steak dinner at home.

My daughter & her husband went out to dinner with their 8mo baby for Valentines Day awhile back, and the couples around them were not happy.

We have gone out to Valentine's dinner with our 4yo, but we make a 5pm reservation in Williamson County, not downtown. Often the restaurant is half empty that early and it's not putting anyone out.

On a good day do Warner Park, Centennial Park, skip the zoo for now, too young for Adventure Science Center. It's a Wed weekday so don't do Music City Star train ride. On a bad day do Public Library, maybe Opry Mills & movie. Maybe do Culvers or Chick Fill A not fancy but good with little kids.

We don't do much Valentine Day celebrating. We've been married 15 years and have 2 kids 11 & 8. Plus it's a Tuesday this year. I'll be helping out with the V-Day party in my daughters class. That night we'll have a nice dinner at home and then play family games together. Kids will go to bed and we'll have our alone time.

Sounds like a plan!

Don't worry - before long you will have those romantic nights out again.
