Hello everyone!

I am planning on moving to the Nashville area by the end of the year. My sister used to live there, and I have been coming to the city for several years, so I feel that I know the area somewhat well. I am moving from Minnesota, about to turn 25, and moving down alone! I have been planning this move for years, and I know it is the place I want to call home. That being said, I am moving with barely any furniture, and I need tips on where to live, that are more in the suburban areas (Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, etc.) because I know traffic is terrible and rent is crazy high! I would probably not want to spend more than 800-900 on rent, and I've been thinking maybe subletting an apartment until I can get my feet on the ground and buy furniture. I'm also taking into consideration jobs in the area (no, I am not looking to become a country star!), and how that would affect my commute with I-24 so congested. I wouldn't be opposed to living with roommates for the time being, at least until I can get better situated. What are your tips for living situations? I'm moving with an open mind, and I really appreciate all the advice!

I would consider looking for an apartment share. Look to see if anyone is looking for a roommate. Your budget will go a lot further if you have a roommate vs a 1 bedroom apartment.

You are young. I would try to live as close to Nashville as you can afford. This probably sounds bad but when I was young and single in Boston I wouldn't date anyone that lived in the burbs. They were "geographically undesirable". I worked in the burbs but my social life was in town.
