Hello all,

I am going to move to Nashville from NYC, I still single young, with no kids yet. I was ask to move to Nashville, which that said, I still like to go out to night club, meet up with the people, all the night life stuff, at the same time I like to come home to a quiet home and not to worry about getting mug or shot. Some day I like to have kids and put them in a good school.

I had look at Smyrna, Hermitage or Mount Juliet, but not sure which is better. I will be work at or near the airport off the exit 56 on the route 24, by Harding place. I really don't want a long commute to work or deal with a lot of traffic, could someone give me some input if you are familiar with these city/town?

Of those three listed, I'd choose Hermitage.

Have you ruled out Donelson?

Neither of the places you listed are really known for their nightlife, although there are a few nice restaurants around. All are relatively safe, but, of course, absolutely no place is completely crime free these days. Mt. Juliet is maybe a little safer.

For you, I might suggest moving to the area that is most convenient to work, and then coming on in to Nashville for the nightlife (the commute into Nashville isn't so bad except during the rush hour times). If that was of interest to you, then I might think about looking in LaVergne or Smyrna first. Or maybe even the Edmondson Pike area of Nashville.

You are right no place in America is safe any more, what I am trying to say is, I don't want to come home and see some crack head on my door step or some crazy fool try to mug me

I understand those three place will not be a night life, but I believed Nashville is just a few step away from the night life. I am just looking for decent place not too far from Harding place off exit 56 on route 24. I really try to not dealing with the traffic, I think I had enough NYC traffic.

thanks everyone for the input. now I will have a better idea

About 2-3 miles straight up Donelson Pike/TN-255.

I wouldn't rule out looking at some places by the lake on Bell Rd. either.
