We're moving to Williamson County from TX in 3 years so we'll start construction in 2 on land we already own. From what I've read on line it appears that they can't build homes quick enough to keep up with demand. Is that true? Is that the case for $800K+ custom homes as well? Do you feel this trend will continue or level off the next couple years? Do you think custom builders are raising their prices because they have more business than they can handle or has it not really reached that level? And if you have any terrific architects or custom builders to recommend I'd appreciate it.

I can only surmise from my 'hood that it is going strong. They stopped building $800k spec homes in late 2007 early 2008 and they are back building 800k specs again.

I went realtracs yesterday and was shocked at the prices in my hood. New construction houses smaller than mine on smaller lots going for $150k more than I paid in 2007 which was the height of the market.

If I were building, this is the architect I would use:

Nashville & Huntsville Architect | Scott Wilson Architect

I will leave it to others to recommend a builder.
