I have State Farm auto and got a quote from them for homeowner's but it seems a little high-thought I would get a quote from another company to compare. Thanks!

You might try the Allen Agency (Hartford). I have my insurance with them. At one time they were great to deal with; now they've merged with another firm and it's seems that they've lost a little of their commitment to service. I used to be able to pick up the phone and talk to the president of the agency; now I'd have to talk to whomever (not that I've had to call them very often, thankfully). Still, it might be a good place to get a second quote.

My mother bought a house in Hendersonville.

We, at the time had State Farm for our auto insurance and the real estate guy suggested Tennessee Farm Bureau.

State Farm quoted my mother $2,500 a year for insurance or about $208 a month...

Our Auto insurance at the time was also about $320 a month for a 05 F-150 and a 04 Ranger ( both with full coverage, 500/500 )

We went to Tennessee Farm Bureau, They offered her the same insurance for $720 for the year, or about $60 a month and we switched our auto insurance to Farm Bureau and it dropped our monthly payment from $320 to $125 a month.

TNRyan23, the rates you quote from State Farm sound very high.

I have State Farm and my rates are very reasonable. A brand new home is only $450 a year for homeowners and my SUV's (2003 & 2004) are only $600 a year for each one. I think your mom may have gotten the wrong info. State Farm is very reasonable.

Thanks everyone, ended up going with State Farm because I'm already a customer and I got a rate I'm happy with compared to other quotes. Thanks!
