Hi Everyone,

I'm a recent college graduate relocating to Nashville. In college, I was very involved in my campus's Catholic Student Ministry, which many of you might know on college campuses to be often called a Newman Center. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for Catholic churches in the Nashville area that have a fair number of younger people, in particular professionals and college students, attending their services. In addition, I would be interested to learn if any of these churches have any programming particularly catered to younger people in their 20's or 30's.

Many of the Catholic churches in the Nashville area tend to be fairly large. Because of their size they would typically have any number of activities for various age groups.

The one I'm most familiar with are St. Henry in West Meade/Bellevue, Holy Family in Brentwood, and the Cathedral of the Incarnation on West End Avenue (near Vanderbilt and Belmont University). There are others around town.

I'm not Catholic, but my best friend is, as well as a number of other friends.

Cathedral of the Incarnation has an active young adult group. I think Christ the King was getting one rolling (it's just down the street from Belmont university on Belmont Blvd. St Philip in downtown Franklin has Veritas for young adults. St Henry and Holy Family are worth checking out too but I don't know about their young adult groups. I would encourage you to check out web sites and contact the young adult program directors and then when you get here spend time going to mass in different parishes. See where you fit best. We live in Forest Hills but go to St Philip for a variety of reasons but the primary one was that it has active programming for everyone in our family which is college age down to toddler and mom and dad as well. We've only been in Nashville a short time but find the Catholic community to be dynamic, involved, and welcoming.
