That type of landscaping isn't common in Nashville. I don't think I've ever seen a palm tree.

That said I have an over landscaped yard on a 1/3d acre. I pay $35/per mow. $50/mo for weeding and $500 once a year to have hedges cleaned/pruned/weeded, ornamental grasses cut back and approx. 5 yards of mulch.

Yeah, it would be expensive to replace the palm trees each Spring.

The price or labor involved of course depends on the size of your lawn. I've seen landscapers charge $150 to $300 per month (with an annual contract) for lawn care for an average lot: mowing / weedeating / blowing during season; pruning; and mulching leaves. This includes light use of Roundup but not extra lawn chemicals like fertilizer or herbicide or pesticide or fungicide.

Weekly mowing takes an hour or so, weedeating / edging and blowing maybe 45 minutes or so - depending on the size of the lawn, type of grass (and growing season), etc. You could expect to spend 6 to 8 hours a week in the yard year round to get results similar to those you pictured. Plus you would need the equipment: mulching mower appropriate for lawn size, string trimmer, blower, etc. Chemicals can cost hundreds of dollars depending on lawn size and need.

thanks guys. sorry about the pictures I got those from zillow's tampa, FL area, just wanted to know how much it would cost to maintain so I searched "landscaping" and this thread came up.

It should be hard to do everything yourself right? I think I will try to do them myself. I can careless about landscape I just want a nice house, however they all seem to come with landscape. I guess if I want I can change the landscape to something simplier and require less maintenance.

Similar to above, we pay $40/week for mowing (1 acre lot) and roughly $1000 throughout the year that goes toward weeding, pruning/tree-trimming and branch removal. We'll probably spend another $300 or so for the actual landscaping; right now, we've been maintaining what the prior owner put in, but I'd like to add some more flowers and plants that are more to our taste.
